Guyana open for investments

Addressing the formal opening of Massy’s Supermarket at Amazonia Mall, Providence, East Bank Demerara Minister of Business, Dominic Gaskin praised the opening of the supermarket and Massy’s continued investment and support for Guyana through its many businesses here.

Noting that the Massy Company has a workforce of 1300 persons in Guyana, Gaskin said the company already contributes handsomely to the local economy. “This investment demonstrates that Guyana is the place to make investments,” Gaskin said.

Minister Gaskin  noted that Guyana’s retail sector is becoming more and more competitive and shoppers have more options both in terms of stores and products.

“Our economy has responded well to these new developments which have demonstrated that Guyana not just has the physical space but the economic space to accommodate an expanding retail sector” Gaskin said.

According to the minister, the Government will continue to ensure that a level playing field exists for all companies and persons who do business in Guyana and play their role in strengthening the local economy.
