Trusted Trader programme to be implemented in Guyana

A working group with representatives of the Ministry of Business, the GRA and the Ministry of Public Telecommunications is to lead the development of a Truster Trader programme for Guyana.

This programme will see Trusted Trader status being granted to businesses which meet certain criteria related to their history of compliance.

The programme is expected to ease some of the unnecessary frustrations and financial burdens faced by legitimate businesses from delays due to the slow, inefficient and, at times, corrupt bureaucracy in Guyana.

The programme is still in the initial assessment phase. It is envisaged that a pilot will be run with only a few government agencies before it is fully implemented.
